The Garage Dilemma
ListIt started out of personal frustration. Like many people, I had accumulated dozens of unused items sitting in boxes across my garage: vintage electronics, board games, old camera equipment, tools, and collectibles. I wanted to sell them on eBay, but every time I sat down to create listings, the sheer time commitment stopped me in my tracks.
Taking photos, looking up model numbers, drafting condition descriptions, selecting categories, and filling out dozens of required eBay item specifics took anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes per item. Listing a weekend pile of 20 items felt like a full-time job.
The Breakthrough
I had the idea of snapping pictures of an item and feeding them directly into Google Gemini, prompting the AI to help me write a complete eBay listing. I tested it by sharing pictures of a car gauge cluster. Gemini immediately asked me to turn the cluster around and look for a barcode or part number. Once it saw the sticker, it delivered an incredible title, description, category, item specifics, and suggested price – all completely accurate.
I was blown away by its accuracy and speed. Right then, I decided to build a full mobile app that could turn that exact workflow into a seamless camera-to-eBay experience.
The Subscription Trap
Almost every listing and cross-listing tool on the market charges an expensive monthly subscription or locks essential AI features behind paid tiers.
